About The House at Dusk
About The House at Dusk
Welcome. Come in, make yourself comfortable.
I'm Elias Thorne, and this is my little corner of the internet.
The House at Dusk is an occasional journal about ordinary life, curious things, and quiet enchantments. It's a place for whatever happens to be occupying my mind, whether that's a book I've been reading, something I noticed on a walk, an unexpected bit of wisdom, or one of life's more ridiculous moments.
I'm a reader, writer, teacher, and male practitioner of witchcraft. My spiritual life is rooted in nature, contemplation, folk magic, and the conviction that the world is far more mysterious and enchanted than we've been taught to believe.
But this isn't exclusively a witchcraft blog.
Some days I may write about cartomancy, folklore, the changing seasons, or the small rituals that give life meaning. Other days, it might be about a particularly good cup of coffee, a book I couldn't put down, the joys and frustrations of getting older, or something that made me laugh when I probably shouldn't have.
I believe the sacred and the ordinary aren't opposites. They're often sitting at the same kitchen table.
I also believe a good life makes room for curiosity, kindness, humor, and the occasional change of mind.
There won't be a rigid publishing schedule, a carefully cultivated persona, or any grand promises about what you'll find here. Just one man writing about his experiences, interests, questions, and observations as life unfolds.
If something here makes you think, smile, or look at the world a little differently, I'm glad you stopped by.
The kettle's on.
Elias
